South Gloucestershire Business Show calls for businesses to be more cyber aware
With the South Gloucestershire Business Show fast approaching, the organisers are warning businesses in the region to be more vigilant when it comes to securely protecting business.
The call comes as the event is set to host its first practical cyber workshop on Thursday 4th October, under Chatham House rules, so key stakeholders can discuss the risks and concerns facing their businesses, and understand in detail, the steps to best mitigate risk.
Recent research among small medium businesses (SMBs) found 17 per cent faced at least one attack in the last year, 28 per cent were attacked two to three times, 32 per cent faced 4-5 attacks and 19 per cent were attacked 6-10 times.
Hosted by Gloucester-based Optimising IT, the workshop is open to business owners and key decision stakeholders who would like to explore the matters they perceive as risks, and potential risks that may not have been acknowledged. The discussion will be held under strict Chatham House rules to allow sensitive and significant business issues to be aired without reputational risk to those present.
The event will also host a LIVEtalk session on each day of the show, bringing together experts from the National Cyber Security Centre, Optimising IT and a variety of super-specialists to share stories and provide guidance for businesses concerned about cyber security.
